Where is Corner Block Lodge?

Corner Block Lodge is located in McPherson, Kansas, 55 miles north of Wichita, and 30 miles south of Salina. Our convenient location is only 1 block away from the downtown shopping district! Map it

Do you allow guests other than scrapbookers and quilters?

Yes! Although the house has been designed for scrapbookers and quilters, any group is welcome to enjoy the spacious creativity rooms; stamping, beading, knitting, embroidery, sewing, cross stitching, etc. Our creativity rooms are set up in a way that they would also accommodate "mixed" groups of crafters (i.e. scrapbookers and quilters together). It would also be ideal for a Christian Women's Retreat,  work retreats, hosting your own Craft Weekend, or a Pinterest Party.

How much space is there for each person to work?

Each person has their own 5' table, along with an ergonomic mesh back chair, personal trash can, and individual Ott table light. There are also electrical outlets available at each table.

What tools are available to use at Corner Block Lodge?

Quilters have access to 3 ironing areas and irons as well as a cutting station with cutting mats. There are many items including three Cricut machines and multiple cartridges, scissors, Quickutz and Sizzix die cuts, stamps, big boards, etc. WE DO HAVE WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS! What are the sleeping accommodations?

There are 6 bedrooms with 12 beds total. All bedrooms are located on the second level of the house. All bedrooms have twin beds (no bunk beds). There are four rooms that sleep 2, one that sleep 3, and one individual room (perfect perk for being the coordinator!). There is one twin pull out bed on the main floor with a memory foam mattress if needed. In addition, there are three bathrooms with showers, one located on each floor.

What should I bring with me?

Craft supplies for your activities and toiletries. Bedding and towels are provided. Each bed is made up with fresh, clean cotton sheets, blanket, comforter and a pillow. Extra blankets and pillows are available in the bedroom closets.  If you want to bring your laptop, wireless internet is also available.

Is food provided?

No, food is not provided. Your group is welcome to bring meals for your stay. The full-service kitchen will have everything you need to prepare your meals. One option is to go potluck style, or have the coordinator assign people specific items to bring (For example, one person would bring fresh fruit, another muffins, another dessert, another a casserole for dinner, etc). What else is there to do in McPherson?

McPherson offers many options if you want a break from your craft. Corner Block Lodge is only a block away from the historical downtown shopping district, including popular destinations such as Stitches Quilt Shop, Craft Coffee Parlor, or The Cook's Nook. Additionally, you can go see a movie at our local theatre (VIP Cinemas), visit the McPherson Museum, enjoy a walk around scenic Lakeside Park, or enjoy a production at the amazing McPherson Opera House.

Do we have to clean when we leave?

Corner Block Lodge has its own housekeeper. We do ask that upon check-out you strip the linens off your bed, gather the garbage and dispose in bins outside of the garage, and run the dishwasher (the group before you will have done the same). A list of check out activities will be provided in your welcome packet as well as hung on the fridge at the lodge to review.

How about smoking and pets?

Smoking is not allowed inside Corner Block Lodge. We do not allow pets of any kind on the property for the benefit of the house and your fellow guests.

Where do we park?

There are a limited number of parking spaces available at the rear of the house. There is room for 7-8 cars west of the house and behind the garage.  Do not block the alley with any parked vehicles.
